It's a disgrace that whenever a drunk driver takes a life behind the wheel, they are only charged with manslaughter. However, when it is a hit and run accident, it seems like that is the only time when there was ever a much harsher sentence, in many cases. 'Melrose Place' star, Amy Locane Bovenizer only gets 3 years, after facing 10 years for driving drunk and killing 60-year-old Helene Seeman.
This Hollywood actress needs to spend more time in jail and we also sincerely feel 10 years is not enough. She and others whom have killed while driving drunk should at least get 50 years in prison. If the laws won't make these drunk drivers spend more time in prison, then it should be against the law to sell or buy alcohol. Do you recall in American History studies when it was against the law to sell liquor? We need to go back to those days, it's just as bad as crack cocaine or any other illegal drug that kills people.
This young man misses his mother so much, he wore her dress to court. We feel so bad for him and sincerely wish he could still have his Mom alive. This just doesn't make sense for the Hollywood actress of 'Melrose Place,' Bovenizer to be sentenced to serve only 3 years in prison. The son of the deceased victim is in a lot of pain. We think it is time to petition for drunk drunkers to get a much harsher sentence and even take this to Congress in D. C. Allegedly, the victim's husband, Fred Seeman angrily shouted, "What a travesty!", according to Daily News.
