After Jamie Coots' death, his son has taken over his snake handling ministry. To many people, we suppose Jamie Coots died as a hero, but we wonder if God approved of him not only handling snakes, but he refused medical treatment. In our opinion, handling snakes is very wrong, because snakes are a symbol of the Devil.
In Mark 16:18 it says: 'They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it
shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall
recover.' However, we don't think it's meant for us to purposely handle snakes.
According to ChristianPost.com, some of the members went back to the church after Tuesday's funeral at
Creech Funeral Home and handled snakes. A dying wishes of his father was
that the church would practice the faith until the end, Coots added.
In the meantime, we pray that God deals with Jamie Coots son to carry on the ministry the way his late father did.
