Denomination Drops Support for Oregon Church After Pastor Supports Homosexuality

Now, this is a lesson for every bishop and board of trustees of any denomination, watch you allow to pastor a church.  You know how the Bible says to test and try every spirit in I John 4:1?  You have to be very careful who applies to pastor any church, because you never know what rules they are trying to remove, to please the world. Pastor Rev. Adam Phillips allegedly wants to support the LGBT, but the denomination no longer wants to support him, thank God.

According to religionnews.com, Phillips said he agrees with the denomination’s position that calls for “celibacy in singleness and faithfulness in heterosexual marriage,” but said the same standards should extend to LGBT members. Since 2004, the Covenant’s official position has been to not allow gay marriages, and pastors are told that individual beliefs “must never overshadow” denominational policy.

What Pastor Rev. Adam Phillips doesn't realize is that this is not just a policy of the denomination, but we have be commanded by the Word of God not to take part with homosexuality, which is an abomination.  One more thing, just because the masses are doing what is popular, doesn't mean we have to follow and go to hell with them.

Biblical Scriptures against Homosexuality
  •  1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

  • Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable."
  • Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
  • Romans 1:26-27 - "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
